Really enjoyable Friday evening out with friends Started the evening upstairs on the bar with a cocktail and a Mezze Platter (not included in the promo) Then returned to the restaurant for the 3 course meal which was definitely worth the price. Starters: we shared the calamari (tender and very well prepared with olives), spelt with slow roast tomatoes too little ricotta and expected whole roasted tomatoes. Wasn't a fan of the sardines (too salty) Mains: The lamb shoulder was sublime - generous portion and meat was tender and falling off the bone and delicious flavours. The line fish Sea Bass was well prepared and beautifully presented. Dessert: the Cardamom chocolate cake and vegan icecream -delicious but rather a meagre slice. The baked cheese was a more reasonable portion and also enjoyed. The service from the waitrons were very attentive and friendly. All in all a great night out with a very buzzing ambience and lovely decor. Definitely recommend!!
Great food and atmosphere. Service was a bit slow because it was packed, but i had a great time!
Each dish was prepared to perfection! We had the Kleftiko for a main - wow!!! The flavours just came together perfectly! The lamb was soft and fell of the bone!
We definitely will come back!
Very disappointing. The restaurant week menu was very limited to a fee vegetarian options.
About The Athletic Club & Social
Cuisine: Mediterranean, Vegetarian
Cosy enough for romantic dates, but equally well-paired to group gatherings, this three-storey bar and restaurant is pure opulence!
The brown-hued three-storey Victorian building is bringing new life and class to the inner city. There is a large veranda looking out onto the mountains and cosy corners to eat, drink and relax.
The tapas bar and restaurant offers a menu combining Greek, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours including plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The coal-fired rotisserie will transport you far north-east with authentic pita breads loaded with lamb or chicken. All meats and fish are sustainably and ethically sourced. They serve lunch, dinner, drinks and coffee.
