The desserts were tasty too (we had the lemon tart and lime frozen yogurt). The palate cleanser deserves a special mention, lemon sorbet served on limoncello (delicious). The waiter (Sipho) was attentive and very patient, timing our food perfectly when we requested smoke breaks in between. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Improvements on desserts
We dined at Verdicchio this past Saturday and had a lovely meal. The restaurant is surprisingly large with a downstairs seating area that felt like a wine cellar.
The food and service was fantastic and the vibe was so calm in the wine cellar- I was a bit scared it would feel super commercial in the casino but dining downstairs really took that away. The steaks in the starter and main were cooked to perfection and the ricotta handkerchief starter was something really different...

The duck was just a bit dry hence the 4.5 stars for the food. Our waitress Nomsa was so sweet and very professional. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Had a fantastic time at Verdiccio. Each dish was divine, including the breads and palette cleanser! I had their gorgonzola steak salad for starters, surf and turf for main and frozen lime sorbet for dessert. Perfect wine! Philani provided the best service waiting the table.
