The food was lovely. One waiter stood out as nice (the one with the leather strap apron). The others found it necessary to make not the best comments to their patrons.
The decoration and furniture was lovely, although I wouldn't put the tables in a row.
The tables are all lined up. It was like a class room line...

We choose for the food and wine pairing option. Unfortunately, that was quite disappointing in our opinion. Apparently they have an in-house sommelier who pours the wines for you.The wines they served with the food didn't do justice to the dishes nor to the wines themselves. I did get a better option with one of the courses because I told them that it was not the right choice for the dish and that it made the wine taste sour and did no justice to the dish. I really don't mind sour, I do like a slice of lemon in my water.
I wouldn't mind visiting again. But next time I will choose my own wines. Although not many wines are poured by the glass.

Read full reviewWe went for lunch at Le Coin Français on Sunday the 6th of May. All 6 of us had the 3 course lunch menu for R400. We received a glass of L'Omarins MCC on the house. The food was all beautifully prepared-, so much attention to detail. I had the beetroot and springbok carpaccio and the sea bass as a main with a side salad of micro greens and a beautiful vinaigrette dressing. My husband had the langoustine for a starter and the fillet for mains, perfectly prepared ! Although I didn't have desert it looked decadent, and with the oohs and aahs around the table it ended off a perfect afternoon. The service was 5 star and the waitrons and wine steward was knowledgeable and professional. Thank you Jesper , Danie and the entire team for a wonderful afternoon,.
What an experience. My husband and I have eaten at most of the top 10 restaurants and Le Coine is right up there with them. The service was impeccable, all 6 courses were to die for. Only complaint would be the mustard seeds that accompanied the lamb neck were really bitter. But put that aside and the rest of the dish was amazing! Good luck guys!
Everything about this experience was amazing. The food was outstanding and the service was brilliant with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
We visited Le Coin Francais as part of the Restaurant Week initiative and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. From the time we came through the door until we left the service was friendly and attentive. The food was innovative and delicious, and the surroundings were clean, simple but very comfortable. I hope the restaurant does very well and we will definitely be back!
