The restaurant week menu was well done, and the wine pairing well worth it (but see later). The chicken and mushroom was disappointing, though, the barley risotto and mushroom broth very bland. I suspect not, especially as you will pay an exorbitant amount for a decent bottle of wine. Why is it that establishments such as this cannot put at least one properly priced wine per category? Around R200 - 250 can still get you a decent wine and the mark up may not be 3 or 400 or 500%, but the volume will make up for that, and it will not put people off. I suspect this establishment will end up catering for corporate clients and those with foreign currency. South Africans can do better at other establishments providing food and service just as good (if not a tad better) for better value for money.
One of our best food experiences. The location and atmosphere were great and the service impeccable. The menu surprised us in the best way, combining local flavour and flare to traditional dishes. Very unique and unexpected combinations that made your palate sing. Generous portions as well. Absolutely loved our time here.
